How switching works
- Kickoff (boards, meeting types, approval steps, templates)
- History import (as many years as you want; bodies, members, meetings, items, legislative files, votes and attachments from legacy agenda systems, depending on the system, or by CSV; a reconciliation report by board and year)
- Configure (routing, templates, portal branding, retention)
- Train (remote sessions; on-site available)
- Parallel run (run Govera next to your current system until you are ready)
- Go live (switch the public portal link and retire the old system at its renewal date)

Questions about switching
- Can we switch mid-contract?
- Most agencies plan the switch for their renewal date. You can start with Core now and add the module anytime, with prorated pricing.
- What happens to our old agendas and minutes?
- We import as many years as you want from your current agenda system or a spreadsheet export, so your history stays searchable in one place.
- Will the public notice a change?
- Your public portal link changes once, at go-live. Post a notice and redirect the old link if your current vendor allows it.
- Do we lose video?
- No. The Agenda Management Module streams and records your meetings and links video to each agenda item.
- Where is our data?
- Customer data is hosted in the United States.
- Is Govera SOC 2 certified?
- Not yet. Govera does not have a SOC 2 report yet; readiness work is under way.
- Who is Govera?
- Govera LLC is based in McKinney, Texas, and was founded by a former city manager.
